Your Emotion, My Music

Song Writing and Production

When I started with Australian Songwriters' Association their motto was 'First The Song'!

I still live by that.

ZimSho was launched in 2024 to showcase the songwriting collaboration of Russ Zimmer & Jim Shomos. Their first creation won Best Song in a regional radio competition by 3CCC. Two other songs were nominated for Best Pop Song in the Australian Songwriters’ Association annual contest.

RUSS rocked guitar and vocals for popular live band MOBY DICK. He also launched ‘55 ALIVE’, one of Australia’s top ‘50’s Rock ‘n Roll acts, while creating jingles for TV and radio.

JIM was also nominated in the ASA annual contest for Best Pop song with Debbie Bignell. He co-wrote the title track to award-winning cross-platform series 'forget the rules', which broadcast on Channel V in Australia, and YouTube globally (2005 and 2007).
